Note: these FAQ's apply to Integrative Coaching™ programs.
Who is an Integrative Coach™?
A person who has trained with Debbie
Ford, founder of the
Ford Institute for Integrative Coaching, now affiliated with
JFK University.
Where does coaching take place?
All coaching takes place on the telephone at a pre-arranged time with
Desy. From the safety of one's home/office, the client calls Desy,
each week for 1 hour. Phone charges are the client's responsibility.
Why does it work?
Accountability. Integration. Action.
How does an Integrative Coaching™ achieve results?
The specially trained coach takes the client through unique processes. A client becomes able to access his/her own inner wisdom. During each session, the client designs his/her own action step, to be completed each week. An integrative coach holds the client responsible for completing exactly what they say they're going to do.
When can I begin?
When you connect with Desy, we both decide if a coaching relationship
is possible. Each client fills out a personal profile and identifies
priorities, which is the heart of each coaching relationship.
How long does an Integrative Coaching™
relationship last?
It lasts for 4 months, upon completion of a set of goals and milestones.
Coaching can be continued, as Desy and client agree.
What is the difference between Blueprint and
Essentials Coaching?
The Blueprint model is based on two books
by Debbie Ford: "The Dark Side of the Light Chasers" and "The Secret
of the Shadow". One of the reasons we get stuck is because we are
denying aspects
of ourselves that yearn to be expressed. We also get stuck because
we say 'I'm not that' - whatever 'that' may be: i.e. greedy, needy,
too short,
too tall, etc. and then we go out of our way to prove to ourselves
and the world that we are indeed just that! We use the Blueprint
to identify those aspects of yourself that you deny or those that
you aspire to but
can't be with either. The Essentials coaching
model is based in Debbie Ford's books "The Right Questions" and "The
Best Year of Your Life".
How are the Blueprint and Essentials the same?
Both models use centering and visualization exercises. Each week the client comes up with an action step to fulfill part of a homework assignment.
